New Multiplayer Game “Foamstars” Coming to PlayStation

Square Enix has announced the release of the highly anticipated multiplayer shooter game “Foamstars” on both PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 4 on February 6th. Along with the release date and a new trailer, it was also revealed that “Foamstars” will be one of the essential games available for free to PlayStation Plus subscribers in February. This means that players will have the opportunity to download “Foamstars” at no additional cost between February 6th and March 4th.

Originally showcased at the PlayStation Showcase last May, “Foamstars” is a 4v4 shooter game in the style of Splatoon, where players engage in colorful battles using foam guns across dynamic arenas. The game offers three unique game modes at launch: Smash the Star, Happy Bath Survival, and Rubber Duck Party.

In Smash the Star mode, players engage in individual battles until seven opponents are eliminated, after which the most skilled player from each team becomes the designated Star. The objective then shifts to eliminate the opposing team’s Star to claim victory. Happy Bath Survival mode throws two players into the arena while the other two remain on the outside. The first team to eliminate their opponents emerges victorious. Lastly, Rubber Duck Party mode is a variation of the payload mode, where teams must protect a massive rubber duck until it reaches the finish line.
