In recent news, the creator of Palworld, who recently gained popularity for adding Disney characters to Mortal Kombat, is now introducing a Pokémon mod. Palworld is a unique blend of a survival game with elements of Pokémon. The main characters in the game are called Pals, which some people say are “inspired” by Pokémon.

The creator, Pocketpair, previously stated that Palworld is more akin to survival games like Ark Survival Evolved and Valheim rather than Pokémon. However, this hasn’t stopped the game from receiving criticism. Now, Palworld is receiving its first Pokémon mod from a creator known as Toasted Shoes. A teaser video was shared on Twitter, showcasing the mod, where the player character is replaced by Ash Ketchum and the Pals are replaced with famous Pokémon characters like Pikachu. The first boss battle features Jessie from Team Rocket.

Toasted Shoes, known for their impressive mods, recently modified Mortal Kombat 1 by creating a brutal game for adults with Dreamworks and Pixar characters. The material showcasing the Palworld modification will be published tomorrow by Toasted Shoes.

Some are wondering whether Pocketpair will take any actions to avoid the wrath of Nintendo, which has always frowned upon fan projects and modifications.

Toasted Shoes’ Palworld modification provides us with a glimpse of what an official, adult-oriented Pokémon game would look like, even though Nintendo would never approve such a project.

This is just the beginning of Palworld modifications, but there are already numerous mods available on the NexusMods website. One of the most popular ones, created by KiiiNo, adds a Ghibli-inspired color palette to the game.
