Fortnite: Solid Snake and Raiden Step Up the Battle Royale Game

Fortnite continues its mission of incorporating characters from other video games into its expansive universe. The creators at Epic Games have revealed that Solid Snake is not the only Metal Gear hero joining the battle royale lineup – Raiden will also make his mark as a premium character.

As Fortnite enters its first month of Chapter 5, Season 1, the game has released a significant update (officially labeled as 28.10). This update introduces new bonus styles for Battle Pass skins and, more importantly, unlocks the opportunity to acquire the previously announced Solid Snake skin and themed cosmetics through in-game challenges.

As usual, the update also includes premium cosmetics exclusively available in the store. One of the most anticipated additions is Raiden, Solid Snake’s companion from the Metal Gear series. Raiden’s arrival was officially announced through a promotional trailer featuring Solid Snake, where Raiden is showcased in alternating shots.

As previously revealed, Raiden’s premium skin – which comes with a katana weapon and themed wrap – is available in two variants: one with his long, flowing blonde hair and another with a mask. Unfortunately, Epic Games did not opt for a fully naked version of Raiden, so don’t expect to see him in all his glory when he appears in the store.

The latest chapter of Fortnite launched in December, introducing three new permanent game modes – Lego Survival, Rocket Races, and the Fortnite Festival – making it one of the most significant updates since the game’s release in 2017. The current season is set to conclude on March 8th.
