Pokémon GO is getting ready to celebrate the Chinese New Year in 2024! The event will start on Monday, February 5th, 2024 at 10:00 local time and will conclude on Sunday, February 11th, 2024 at 20:00 local time.

A new Pokémon will be making its debut in Pokémon GO during the Chinese New Year event! Drampa, a calm and peaceful Pokémon, will be appearing in its shiny form. Drampa is a unique combination of Normal and Dragon types, which it shares only with Turtonator. Originally from the Alola region, Drampa is known as Turtonator’s counterpart and does not evolve into any other Pokémon. Normal Drampa has a white and green coloration, while Shiny Drampa has a beautiful orange-brown golden hue.

Please note that Timed Research has a limited time validity. Tasks related to Timed Research must be completed, and rewards must be claimed before Sunday, February 11th, 2024 at 20:00 local time.

During the Chinese New Year event, a global challenge will take place! Collaborate with Trainers from around the world to complete 1,000,000,000 unique throws and unlock the following bonuses for all Trainers to enjoy for the remainder of the event. As part of the rewards for the global challenge, the sky will be lit up with festive fireworks!
Global Challenge Rewards: Exclusive Moves
During the event, you will be able to evolve certain Pokémon to obtain a Pokémon that knows a unique move! Currently, the Pokémon with exclusive moves belong to the following types:

Global Challenge Rewards: Wild Encounters
When the global challenge is unlocked, more Pokémon will appear in the wild. Currently, we only know that six of these Pokémon have the potential to be Shiny, while one does not!
