BT Apologizes for Incorrectly Charging Customers for Xbox Game Pass Subscriptions

BT przeprasza za niewłaściwe naliczanie opłat za subskrypcje Xbox Game Pass

BT has issued an apology to its customers for incorrectly charging them for Xbox Game Pass subscriptions. Many individuals have reported being charged an additional £10 on their monthly bills since at least October 2023, and the issue appears to still be ongoing.

A spokesperson from BBC stated, “We sincerely apologize to the customers mentioned in this article who had Xbox Game Pass Ultimate added to their account without their knowledge. We recommend all our customers to remain vigilant and if they notice any suspicious changes to their account, to contact us as soon as possible to report it.”

The company has not clarified why customers are being incorrectly charged or how widespread the problem is. One affected customer learned about the charge when they received an email thanking them for activating the subscription.

Reports suggest that a customer service representative mentioned during an online chat, “This is an issue between BT and Microsoft, where it was somehow randomly activated on customer accounts.”

New titles that have been added to Game Pass in January include Assassin’s Creed Valhalla (Cloud, PC, Xbox Series X|S), Resident Evil 2 (Cloud, Console, PC), Close to the Sun (Cloud, Console, PC), F1 23 (Console, PC, EA Play), and Palworld (Cloud, Console, PC).

Upcoming additions to Game Pass will include Persona 3 Reload (Cloud, Console, PC) on February 2nd and Anuchard (Cloud, Console, PC) on February 6th.
