Tekken 8: A Stylish Entry into the World of Fighting Games

Tekken 8: Doskonały sposób na wejście w świat bijatyk

Tekken 8 is now available on Xbox Series X|S consoles, giving gamers another chance to participate in The King of Iron Fist tournament. This installment of the series is highly accessible for new players, and Xbox achievements reflect this accessibility, remaining available for those who want to try their hand at fighting games.

When watching trailers or taking a quick look at screenshots, it’s hard to resist the visual appeal that Tekken 8 offers, from its stunning character models to stylish combo animations. All of this tempts you to dive into the game, even if you’re not particularly skilled at fighting games or usually find it difficult to get interested in them. If you find yourself in a similar situation and don’t want to risk your completion percentage for the sake of fun with fighting games, I have good news: the achievements in Tekken 8 are just as accessible to new players as the gameplay itself.

Tekken 8 features 49 achievements that seem similar to the achievements in Tekken 7, which typically take around ten hours to complete. Like in the previous installment, one achievement is tied to unlocking all the remaining achievements, and to do so, you’ll have to try everything Tekken 8 has to offer, including getting involved in online gameplay if you want to accomplish everything. However, this is a fairly easy task.

For new players, a great place to start learning the basics of combat, understanding the various functions of Tekken 8, and mastering the best moves for your chosen character is the Arcade Quest mode. Similar to the story mode, it takes roughly the same amount of time to complete, but offers many easy fights that resemble training matches. Three achievements are directly tied to Arcade Quest, and you will also need to complete it in order to unlock Super Ghost Battle, which has four additional achievements, with the most challenging being the achievement “All is Vanity” for defeating another player’s ghost. Both Arcade Quest and Super Ghost Battles reward you with experience points, which are necessary to achieve three ranks. These two modes will likely present the biggest challenges.

During my adventure in these modes, I fought around 60 matches, most of which were with random players at the arcade venues. By using the Super Ghost Battles mode, where you engage in battles with better-ranked opponents and earn significantly more experience points (XP), you can cut that number almost in half. Your time spent fighting in these modes will unlock most of the remaining side achievements, and if you don’t achieve that, you will most likely complete the achievement list during the story mode.

The story mode in Tekken 8 is called “The Dark Awakens” and consists of 15 acts filled with lengthy scenes that can be skipped if preferred. It is easily entered by setting the difficulty level low, which greatly helped me due to my skills. After completing Arcade Quest and the story mode, you will still need to finish ten character episodes, each with five battles, and win eight battles in Arcade mode (available on easy difficulty) to achieve “I’ll put an end to this.” You will also need to spend five minutes smashing the villain character using consecutive Rage Arts in Practice mode – this is where you can complete the first combo task for five different characters, thereby achieving the “Do you want to learn Marshall Arts” achievement. The Tekken Ball mode involves performing 20 Devilish-style hits, which is an exceptionally powerful blow. I achieved this after about three matches, so it’s not too difficult.

Similar to Tekken 7, the most challenging achievements are those related to fights against other players. Fortunately, you don’t have to do too much to achieve 100% completion. Just playing one match and winning it in Ranked mode will unlock both the “Just Relax, You Can Do It” and “I’ll give you a rematch anytime, guv” achievements, and the Group Battle mode is available in the Tekken Fight Lounge. After these fights, you have likely met the criteria for the “Excellent!” achievement, which requires playing ten online matches. However, if you haven’t met them yet, simply playing a few more matches will complete the achievement list.
