Palworld Developer Apologizes to Fans for Cheating Incidents

Pocketpair Przeprasza Fanów za Cheatowanie w Palworld

In a recent statement, Pocketpair, the creator of the game Palworld, has apologized to fans affected by cheating incidents, acknowledging that it is currently difficult to completely prevent all forms of cheating.

In the statement published on X/Twitter, the team confirmed that despite the game being on the market for only a week, they have already received reports from players who have encountered “cheating on official servers.”

“We apologize to all players affected by this situation,” Pocketpair team admitted in the statement.

In a statement titled “Regarding Anti-Cheating Measures on Official Servers,” the team said, “It has been confirmed that some players are cheating on the official server. We will apply a patch as soon as it is ready, but currently, it is challenging to immediately prevent all forms of cheating. We will continue to focus on safety and strive to create an environment in which everyone can play peacefully.”

Many people are surprised that anyone would attempt to cheat in such a mildly competitive game.

“Why would someone cheat in this game? Especially in multiplayer mode? You can do it in your own world…” one player said.

“People are already cheating. How sad :/” GameRiot content creator wrote.

“This incident shows how sad it is that some people try to cheat in games,” GameRiot added.

If you thought Palworld looked a bit too similar to other monster collection games, you’re not alone. The Pokémon Company issued a statement confirming that they are now “investigating” whether the remarkably successful Palworld by Pocketpair infringes on intellectual property rights.

However, this has not diminished players’ enthusiasm for Palworld. On Friday, the number of simultaneous Palworld players on the Steam platform exceeded two million, making Palworld the second game on Steam to achieve such a result, right after PUBG.

Yesterday (Saturday, January 27th), Palworld once again surpassed its own record of simultaneous players, reaching a new record level of 2,101,867 players.
