How to Catch Drampa in Pokemon GO?

Since its debut on February 5th, Drampa can be obtained in various ways. The event related to the Chinese New Year will mainly focus on Dragon-type Pokemon, so finding Drampa may require some extra effort.

Below are a few ways that will help you find Drampa during the event:

Rustling battles with 3-star Pokémon

During the Chinese New Year event, Drampa will appear as a boss in 3-star battles in various gyms in Pokemon GO. If you challenge and defeat the battle boss either alone or with friends, you will have the opportunity to catch it after the battle. It is recommended to bring Pokemon with moves that are effective against Drampa, primarily Pokemon with high CP.

As a Normal/Dragon type Pokemon, Drampa is weak against the following types of attacks:

Fighting
Ice
Dragon
Fairy

All these types deal 160% damage when in contact with Drampa. Since it is a 3-star battle boss, you should be able to defeat it even on your own if you have sufficiently strong Pokemon in your team. If you don’t have strong Pokemon, inviting friends to battle will also help.

Field Research

In addition to battles, you can find Drampa during the upcoming event in Pokemon GO by spinning around at PokeStops and completing special Field Research tasks. During the Chinese New Year event, selected Dragon-type Pokemon, which can be found in the wild and battles, will also be available to obtain through Field Research. Drampa and other Pokemon such as Dratini, Turtonator, Deino, Druddigon, and Gible will be among them.

Paid Research Tasks

If you are willing to spend $2 or the equivalent in your country, you can purchase a ticket for the paid Research Tasks related to the Chinese New Year event. These research tasks can be completed at your own pace until February 11, 2024, at 8:00 PM local time.

By completing the tasks in the research, not only can you obtain Stardust, XP, and Lucky Eggs, but you can also gain additional opportunities to encounter Dragon-type Pokemon related to the event, including Drampa. This should greatly help if you want to get a Drampa with 100% CP value in Pokemon GO before the event ends or if you need extra candy to power up the Drampa you’ve already caught.
