Exciting Updates in the Mysterious Discovery Phase of WoW Classic

Nowości w tajemniczej fazie odkrycia w WoW Classic

The realm of World of Warcraft Classic is abuzz with the latest news and updates from the team of creators. Let’s introduce you to the masterminds behind the game: Linny Cooke Saverline, the game producer; Tim Jones, the lead designer; Nora Valletta, the software engineer; Ana Resendez, the software engineer; and Josh Greenfield, the game producer. They have some exciting insights to share about the new features in Phase 2 of the Discovery Season.

We would like to provide you with a glimpse into the upcoming PTR update. Similar to the previous phase, the content of Phase 2 will not be available for gameplay. We also want to dispel any misconceptions that may arise from data mining, which can lead to misleading conclusions. The PTR contains experimental data that may pertain to later game phases or even items that did not make it into the final version.

The key highlights of this update include a new raid, dungeons, the Rune ability, PvP, and profession updates.

A Sneak Peek at Gnomeregan Raid

Location: Dun Morogh
Level: 40
Number of players: 10
Number of bosses: 6

Similar to the Black Fathom Deeps in Phase 2, the Gnomeregan raid will be a 10-player dungeon with six bosses, including one completely new boss. Each of the previous five bosses has been redesigned to provide new challenges for the players. The raid will also introduce a new world buff.

New items and rewards will be introduced, including even more epic rewards from additional sources beyond the last two bosses of the dungeon. New class sets and level 40 player-specific quests and rewards will also be available for acquisition.

Players will also have the opportunity to embark on a new profession quest chain, which leads to obtaining new materials that can be used to create more powerful items.

As a compromise for both leading and more casual players, the raid will become accessible at the start of Phase 2 of the Discovery Season, but there will be two time locks on raid resets at the beginning of the phase. This means that the first raid reset will occur on February 13th, and the second on February 20th during regular server maintenance. This will allow leading players to reach level 40 and immediately start exploring the dungeon, minimizing the number of missed raids for slower-leveling players.

Boss Updates

There will be some changes in the areas where bosses are located, creating new challenges for players. Here are some examples of the changes you may encounter:

– Grubbis: New radiation ventilation shafts may play a role in this encounter.
– Crowd Pummeler 9-60: This boss has moved to a new part of the dungeon, where the battle takes place on an elevated platform in front of a crowd.
– Mekgineer Thermaplugg: Possesses new mechanical armor in their arsenal.

New Loots

We have included several references to older items that were previously iconic in this dungeon. Items like the Automatic Crowd Pummeler will allow players to use the item multiple times, adding convenience to gameplay. However, it is important to note that all examples mentioned here are still works in progress and may differ from the final version.

Additional Items

The dungeon also contains hidden and interesting items.

Item Sets

To assist players in acquiring additional set pieces they may have trouble obtaining, tokens for armor pieces will be available for all players to use in order to acquire missing parts of the set. For example, if you are missing boots, you can use a boot token to purchase them from a vendor.

Dungeon Updates

Phase 2 of the Discovery Season will also introduce new skill books that drop from mobs in 5-player dungeons. These enhancements will not occupy a Rune slot and will help address certain issues, such as the short duration of Paladin blessings’ Auras, totem control for Shamans, combo point manipulation for Rogues, and more. Here are just a few examples:

– Rune Ability Updates

We wanted to introduce a few new Runes for players to discover as they progress to level 40.

Druid Runes

Eclipse is an ability that has gained popularity in future expansions and we have brought it back in the Discovery Season. Eclipse increases your chance to critically hit with your next two Wrath abilities by 30%, and Wrath increases your chance to critically hit with your next Starfire by 30%, stacking up to 4 times.

King of the Jungle completely changes your Tiger’s Fury, increasing all physical damage you deal by 15% and instantly granting you 60 energy. In return, Tiger’s Fury now has a 30-second cooldown.

Paladin Runes

Sheath of Light will cause melee damage dealt to also increase your spell power. Additionally, critical healing will add additional healing over time.

Guarded by the Light will gradually restore mana with each melee hit. However, the amount of healing generated by Flash of Light, Holy Light, and Holy Shock will be reduced by half.

Hunter Runes

Melee Specialist is a passive ability that reduces the cooldown of Raptor Strike, causing it to deal instant damage and each use of Raptor Strike has a chance to not trigger the cooldown. Melee Specialist also removes the cooldown for Mongoose Bite.

Trap Launcher allows you to place traps anywhere within a 40-yard range and allows trap placement even during combat. Additionally, your fire and frost-based traps have separate shared cooldowns.

Warrior Runes

Rallying Cry is a defensive ability that can be activated to increase the health of all party and raid members within a 40-yard range.

Blood Surge grants a chance for certain abilities to make your next Slam instant and cost no Rage.

Rogue Runes

Shuriken Toss allows you to throw shurikens at your enemies.
