Microsoft Flight Simulator has always offered a realistic aviation experience, allowing players to take to the skies and explore the world. Now, with the latest free update to the game, players have the opportunity to venture to the sunny shores of the Caribbean. The development team has added numerous enhancements and details to this part of the world.

In a recent blog post, Microsoft announced that the update brings many visual improvements to Caribbean islands such as Antigua, Aruba, the Bahamas, Barbados, the British Virgin Islands, the Cayman Islands, the Dominican Republic, Grenada, Haiti, Jamaica, Puerto Rico, Saint Kitts and Nevis, Trinidad and Tobago, Turks and Caicos, and the US Virgin Islands.

The update introduces over 100 points of interest throughout the Caribbean, including the addition of seven detailed airports. Additionally, players can embark on new activities, such as three exciting discovery flights, three challenging landing challenges, and three bush trips.

With the free Caribbean update, Microsoft Flight Simulator pilots can also take control of the classic four-seat Bell 47J Ranger helicopter. First introduced in 1956, this helicopter made history as it became the first helicopter to transport a sitting US President, Dwight D. Eisenhower, in 1957. The Bell 47J measures 32 feet and 5 inches in length, stands at 9 feet and 3 inches tall, and features a two-blade rotor system with a diameter of 37 feet and 2 inches. It is powered by a 6-cylinder Lycoming VO-540-B1B piston engine, generating up to 260 horsepower. The helicopter has a range of 260 miles, can climb 870 feet per minute, and achieves a service ceiling of 11,000 feet above sea level. Its cruising speed is 91 mph, with a maximum speed of 105 mph.

The Microsoft Flight Simulator version of the Bell 47J Ranger includes seven different paint schemes and can be equipped with traditional landing gear or floats for water landings. The helicopter is currently available for $14.99 in the game store.

With this update, players can not only experience enhanced graphics of the Caribbean but also take on the role of a classic helicopter pilot and explore these picturesque regions from the air.
