Fascinating Discoveries in the World of Antichamber

Antichamber: Twórca gry zostaje zaskoczony własnym dziełem

In a recent revelation that took the gaming community by surprise, Alexander Bruce, the creator of the surrealist puzzle game, Antichamber, admitted to being puzzled by his own creation years after its release. Having worked on the game alone, Bruce shared on Twitter that he revisited the 2013 game and found himself struggling with one of the puzzles.

Instead of finding the solution he had originally designed, Bruce ended up in a different location, leaving him questioning the integrity of his own work. He later realized that the game was functioning as intended and that he had simply forgotten the solution to the puzzle he had crafted many years ago. In a tweet, Bruce mused, “And then [I realized] that it was just a game. I had been fooled by everyone else for so long.”

If there’s anything to be learned from this situation, it is that the puzzles in Antichamber must be truly compelling if even their creator had trouble solving them.

Let’s be honest, I don’t even remember creating this puzzle in the first place. It seems that my memory isn’t as reliable as it once was! Aging, right?

It has been 11 years since the game’s release, and most likely even longer since Bruce actively worked on it. To make matters worse, the creator confessed that not only did he not remember how he constructed the puzzle, but he also couldn’t recall how to solve it: “My memory isn’t as reliable as it used to be. I’m getting older, right?”

For those who may not have heard of Antichamber, it is a PC game that has received “very positive” reviews on the Steam platform. Filled with extraordinary puzzles, players must solve them to progress in the game. And if the puzzles themselves aren’t enough to boggle your mind, Antichamber also presents a surreal visual style reminiscent of Escher, which undoubtedly adds to the complexity.
