In an unexpected twist, Studio Fool’s Theory, the creative team behind The Witcher Remake, is bringing a fresh perspective to CD Projekt Red’s original game. The CEO of Fool’s Theory, Jakub Rokosz, has expressed their ambition to introduce significant changes to the highly-anticipated remake while preserving the remarkable and essential features of the 2007 version.
The original Witcher game, though a masterpiece in its time, is now considered somewhat outdated due to its exclusive reliance on mouse and keyboard controls and its combat system that required precise clicking and timing. However, the core gameplay structure remains intact, following a captivating story that takes players on thrilling adventures in new and unexplored territories. Main quests, as well as side quests and monster contracts, provide ample opportunities for rewards in the form of both monetary gain and precious items. These rewards can then be utilized to enhance skills, equip better gear, and concoct powerful potions.
The Witcher Remake seeks to transform the original game into an immersive open-world experience that seamlessly aligns with the groundbreaking design of The Witcher 3. However, considering that The Witcher 3 will have already celebrated its tenth anniversary when the remake is released, players can anticipate a refined and enhanced gaming experience. Although additional details about the remake are yet to be disclosed, the initial announcement in October 2022 showed that the development is still in its early stages, suggesting that several more years will pass before its official launch. Importantly, Doug Cockle, the acclaimed voice actor for Geralt, is eagerly returning to reprise his iconic role.
