The upcoming update for Warhammer 40k Darktide, titled the Path of Redemption, is gearing up for its first major overhaul in 2024, promising a true revolution. The latest patch, set to be released later this month, brings a host of new challenges, rewards, and much more to this dark shooter.

The Path of Redemption introduces a new, separate progression path consisting of 40 levels, linked to the completion of these acts of penance. In the game, they will be watched over by Hestia, a nun in robes who has quietly managed her archives on the Mourningstar ship for some time. She will now become a full-fledged character, with her voice lines being heard during missions.

In addition to providing various tasks, the update also adds over 200 new penances to give players greater control over the gameplay. Rewards are now dependent on different behaviors and approaches to the game, making the new penances more player-driven and less reliant on tedious grinding.

Another cool addition in this update is a new mission interface that allows you to track both penances and Sire Melk’s contracts in real-time. This feature enables you to check what you are close to achieving at any given moment and what contracts you have open.

The Path of Redemption has a few more aces up its sleeve. Players can expect new puzzles scattered throughout the streets, as well as a new condition called poison. If you’re wondering who is responsible for this, it could be a new type of enemy called Dreg Tox Bomber, who hurls toxic grenades, crafted from human heads – a common commodity in Hive Tertium.

Alongside these new challenges and dangers come a plethora of new rewards. The update includes over a hundred new collectible rewards such as insignias, portrait frames, emotes, poses, weapon adornments, and cosmetics. There is also a new type of reward – titles, by which players can showcase their most remarkable achievements.

Battlefield in the Warhammer 40k Darktide universe is ever-evolving, and players are constantly seeking new conquests and challenges. The Path of Redemption update is a testament to the vibrant gaming industry in Poland and the creative spirit driving the development of innovative games in the region.
