Researchers suggest that the integration of tweets into Google searches has played a significant role in attracting a larger audience to X. When conducting searches, curious young internet users often find themselves redirected to the social media platform, sometimes exposing them to inappropriate content. The report highlights that 13% of the content on X is deemed inappropriate, including hate speech, explicit material, and disinformation.

However, it is worth noting that while 7-9 year-olds are using X, they spend relatively little time on the platform, averaging just nine minutes per day. In comparison, their digital entertainment preferences lean towards platforms such as Roblox, where they spend an average of 137 minutes daily. YouTube also remains a favorite platform, with 53% of this young demographic spending approximately 103 minutes on it every day. Netflix follows closely behind, capturing the attention of 39% of children in this age group, who dedicate 59 minutes to the streaming service daily.

It cannot be denied that digital entertainment has become an integral part of the lives of these young children, with tablets and online platforms playing a significant role in their daily routines. As technology continues to evolve, it is essential for parents and guardians to remain vigilant, ensuring that age-appropriate content is accessible and limiting exposure to potentially harmful or unsuitable material.
