Aktor Ned Luke Criticizes Unauthorized Chatbot Based on His Character in GTA 5

Aktor z GTA 5 niszczy nieautoryzowany chatbot oparty na postaci którą odgrywał

In a recent development, actor Ned Luke, known for his role as Michael De Santa in GTA 5, has strongly criticized a company specializing in artificial intelligence for releasing an unauthorized chatbot based on his character. Given his dedication, Luke managed to get the unwanted program removed from the internet (initial reports were published by PCGamesN).

On January 14th, WAME, the company in question, published a link to their chatbot called “Michael” along with the text: “Has GTA 5 taken small steps into your life? Now take another step forward. Try having a realistic voice conversation with Michael De Santa, the protagonist of GTA 5!” Unfortunately for WAME, this quickly caught the attention of Luke, who is not one to hold back. Instead of quoting him directly, it can be said that Luke expressed his strong disapproval of the bot, calling it “a load of crap” and stating that there is nothing cool about stealing people’s voices through a weak computer imitation, emphasizing that it was a waste of time.

Luke also tagged Rockstar Games and the SAG-AFTRA union in his response, leading to the chatbot and related tweets being deleted. Other actors, including Roger Clark, expressed their sympathy, stating how troublesome these actions can be. However, Luke didn’t stop at his initial remarks. Another statement from Luke was made, where he said, “I’m not worried about being replaced, Roger. I just hate these bastards and I’m pissed off at our shitty union, which is so weak that this problem will soon affect real work, not just some stupid bot trying to make money off our voices.”

Luke’s reference to the recent “ethical AI” agreement made by SAG-AFTRA highlights the complex interplay between AI development and ethics. Despite the debates surrounding AI ethics, it seems that in cases like this one, it is hard not to support Luke’s stance. Sometimes you simply dislike companies behind such actions.
