Be Quiet! Introduces White Version of Pure Wings 3 Fans

Be Quiet! has announced the introduction of Pure Wings 3 fans in white, available in 120mm and 140mm sizes. The new models offer a choice between the standard and high-speed versions, providing various benefits in a brighter color that reflects the growing interest in light-colored components.

The white version of the fans is identical to the black models from the Pure Wings 3 series, meaning they offer the same performance and acoustics, differing only in color. Unlike the black variants, the white models will not be available in a 3-pin version, only with PWM cables. However, this is not a significant change as PWM fans work just as well when connected to a 3-pin connector.

The high-speed Pure Wings 3 fans feature nine blades instead of seven, which helps in pushing more air at higher pressure. They are also faster than their standard counterparts, reaching a maximum speed of 1,800 RPM in the 140mm version and 2,100 RPM in the smaller 120mm version. This is an ideal solution for AIO coolers, which effectively pass air through radiator fins. Additionally, all high-speed Pure Wings 3 White fans are equipped with a so-called speed-regulating engine, which maintains stable rotation regardless of resistance.

However, as one might expect, higher speeds also mean higher noise levels. Fortunately, even though they are louder by 8.6dBA at full speed, the Pure Wings 3 High-Speed fans are still relatively quiet, reaching a maximum sound intensity of 30.5dBA. The same applies to the 120mm High-Speed version, which reaches a maximum of 30.9dBA. Personally, even under full load, these fans generate less noise than the ambient noise level in my home.

If you need greater performance, you may consider purchasing Silent Wings Pro 4, but this will come with higher costs.

The new white versions will be available from February 13th at the following prices:
– £10.99 / $9.90 / €13.90 for the Pure Wings 3 120mm
– £10.99 / $9.90 / €13.90 for the Pure Wings 3 120mm PWM High-Speed
– £10.99 / $11.90 / €14.90 for the Pure Wings 3 140mm PWM
– £10.99 / $11.90 / €14.90 for the Pure Wings 3 140mm PWM High-Speed

It’s great to see white components gaining popularity. If you’re wondering why this trend didn’t start earlier, it must be acknowledged that achieving color consistency in production can be quite challenging. One oversight on the production line, and we end up with a range of creamy fans that don’t match be quiet! Dark Base cases. However, we believe that everything looks better in white, so better late than never.

Q: What does AIO stand for in reference to computer cooling?
A: AIO stands for All-In-One, and in the context of computer cooling, it refers to pre-built cooling solutions that include a pump, radiator, and fan in one unit.

Q: What are radiator fins?
