Now marking its 15th edition, the festival has expanded from a single afternoon affair to a vibrant four-day event, drawing participants from around the globe.
The recent celebration featured a stunning lineup of 85 films from 38 countries, highlighting the rich tapestry of stories that originate from the African continent. This year’s theme, “Africa Through the African Lens,” underscores the festival’s dedication to showcasing narratives from authentic perspectives, providing a platform for voices often unheard in mainstream media.
The festival kicked off with an exciting Industry Day. Filmmakers had the unique opportunity to visit the headquarters of YouTube and engage with key industry insiders, an experience particularly valuable to veterans like acclaimed director Souleymane Cissé, a pioneer in African cinema.
