Pokémon TV: Koniec darmowego streamingu

In a surprising announcement, The Pokémon Company’s Pokémon TV app has declared that it will be ceasing its operations on March 28, 2024. The announcement was made on January 9, and since then, the app has been removed from various platforms including the App Store, Google Play, Roku Channel Store, Amazon Appstore, Nintendo eShop, and Pokemon.com. However, users who already have the app installed on their devices will still be able to enjoy its content until the specified date.

Pokémon TV served as the sole platform for fans to watch all episodes and movies of the Pokémon anime for free, along with exclusive content related to the trading card game and video game series. Many Pokémon anime fans expressed their disappointment about the platform shutting down due to its user-friendly interface and reliability.

The online debut of Pokémon TV took place in 2010, and the app became available on Google Play and the App Store in 2013, and later on the Nintendo eShop in 2021. In addition to the popular Pokémon anime, the platform also offered exclusive content for children and fans of competitive gaming. The Pokémon TV Kids section featured various poems and songs, while the Play! Pokémon section provided video materials from professional tournaments such as the Video Game Championships (VGC), Trading Card Game (TCG), and Pokkén Tournament.

Although the reason behind the closure of the app remains undisclosed, The Pokémon Company has offered a guide informing users about alternative platforms to watch Pokémon anime. However, the scattering of episodes across different platforms might inconvenience both new viewers and dedicated fans who wish to revisit classic episodes. Despite the lack of an official replacement for Pokémon TV, many fans are hopeful that a new version of the app will be released soon, similar to the online trading card game (TCG).
