Halo Infinite: Embracing a New Era of Gaming

Halo Infinite: Ostatni sezon i nowa era

The gaming community has been buzzing with excitement following the news of the final season of Halo Infinite, the highly anticipated game released last October. However, developer 343 Industries has recently announced a significant shift in their approach with the introduction of the “Operational Model”, set to commence on January 30th. This new model will offer players 20 levels of free rewards every four to six weeks, creating a refreshing gaming experience.

As part of the upcoming Operation Spirit of Fire update, scheduled for release on January 30th, players can expect new customization options, a brand-new map, and exciting additions to the Forge tool. This departure from longer and more prolonged seasons marks a meaningful change for Halo Infinite. During a live stream on Friday, John Junyszek, Senior Community Manager at 343 Industries, emphasized the company’s commitment to supporting Infinite until 2024.

While Halo Infinite remains the focal point for 343 Industries, Junyszek also confirmed that the studio is actively working on new projects beyond the first-person shooter genre. He stated, “We are changing our approach to Infinite. For players of the Master Chief Collection, this will sound very familiar. In short, we will no longer be discussing ‘seasons’ – we are shifting away from that.”

He went on to add, “For us, as studio employees, this will be an exciting year for Halo. We have a dedicated team working on supporting Halo Infinite’s development, but we also have additional teams accelerating towards the future, working on completely new projects… there’s a lot in store for us.”

In 2020, Matt Booty, the former head of Xbox Game Studios, suggested that 343 Industries would continue working on the Halo series, while other studios may also join in its development. Booty did not rule out the possibility of the Call of Duty team from Activision working on the game, but emphasized that it was not mandated by Xbox management.

Last year, 343 Industries underwent significant staff reductions as part of a broader restructuring of Xbox Game Studios. Certain Affinity, a Texas-based studio that has collaborated on series such as Halo, Call of Duty, Left 4 Dead, and Doom, also announced last year that it would take on additional development responsibilities for Halo Infinite.
