Is Blissey with Wild Charge Valuable in PvP and PvE Battles in Pokemon GO?
Blissey with Wild Charge is a new move combination that can be obtained by evolving Chansey during the Pokemon GO Community Day in February 2024. However, is it truly effective in PvP and PvE battles? This question has been on the minds of many players in Niantic’s mobile game based on augmented reality.
Before we evaluate the value of Blissey with Wild Charge in the Pokemon GO Battle League, let’s take a look at its other moves and basic statistics.

Wild Charge is an Electric-type Charged move that deals 100 base damage and consumes 45 energy. It has a high damage-to-energy ratio but comes at the cost of lowering the user’s defense by two stages.
In scenarios where both players have the same number of shields in the Great and Ultra Leagues of Pokemon GO Battle League, Blissey had poor results before the addition of Wild Charge. Unfortunately, the new move doesn’t significantly improve its position, as it still performs with suboptimal efficiency.
The only way to achieve positive results with Blissey is by having a shield advantage, but this questions the rationale of having such a massive creature on your team.
Without STAB (Same Type Attack Bonus), Wild Charge does more harm than good to Blissey, as it lowers the creature’s defense stats. Even with the continuous nerfs to Psychic moves, it still offers better coverage against Fighting-type Pokemon, which pose the biggest threat to Blissey.
Is Blissey with Wild Charge valuable in Pokemon GO Gym and Raid battles?
Blissey is a useless attacker in Gyms and Raids due to its low attack stat. However, it can still dish out a significant amount of damage over time, making it one of the best defenders in Pokemon GO Gyms.
Even in this scenario, Wild Charge, with a power of 90 and lacking STAB, isn’t useful as the combination of Pound and Hyper Beam (both moves having STAB) deals greater overall damage.
How to obtain Blissey with Wild Charge in Pokemon GO?
To obtain a Blissey that knows Wild Charge, you must evolve Chansey during the Pokemon GO Community Day event in February or within five hours after the event. This will cost you 50 Candy.
Alternatively, you can use an Elite Charged TM to teach an existing Blissey the move Wild Charge, but it would be an absolute waste of a rare item.
Just because Blissey with Wild Charge is not valuable doesn’t mean you shouldn’t participate in the February Community Day, as it gives you a solid chance to obtain Shiny Happiny, Shiny Chansey, and Shiny Blissey in Pokemon GO.
