Maingear Unveils Revamped North XL Product Line

Maingear aktualizuje swoją linię produktów North Series

Maingear has recently refreshed its North Series product line with new desktop computer models based on the latest Fractal Design North XL case. This new iteration allows for the installation of larger graphic cards and radiators measuring up to 420 mm. The update maintains the same component choices and pricing, making the North XL a complimentary upgrade.

At first glance, the new North XL may not appear significantly different from the original version. It retains the same aesthetics and colors that almost mirror the original design. However, the case is notably longer now, accommodating radiators of 280 mm and 360 mm, a three-fan setup on the top, E-ATX motherboards, and wider compatibility for larger radiators. Maingear seems to be leaving the option of upgrading to a 420 mm cooler as a possibility for users, indicating no immediate plans to release North computers with 420 mm cooling.

Moreover, the added length of the case provides more space for the graphics card. Previously, fitting a high-performance card into the North XL case was a bit tight, but there is now ample room for an RTX 4090 Founders Edition. Unfortunately, the larger North XL model does not support vertical GPU mounting unless a special kit is used.

The Maingear update primarily focuses on the case, with no alterations to other components or pricing. This approach ensures that the North series remains competitive in terms of value compared to pre-built systems from companies like Corsair and MSI.

The refreshed North Series product line is already available, catering to both gaming PCs based on North and Pro WS workstations. Maingear’s North gaming computers feature Intel 14th Gen CPUs and Nvidia RTX 40 graphics cards, with the exception of the Ruby configuration that includes the Ryzen 7 7800X3D. On the other hand, the Pro WS workstations support only the Core i9-14900K and Ryzen 9 7950X models, omitting Xeon or Threadripper processors, exclusively available in the Pro WS Max series.
