Palworld: A Game that Transforms the World of Pokemon

Palworld: Gra z Pokemonami w zupełnie nowym świetle

Palworld, a game that has taken the internet by storm, has faced accusations of resembling another popular title. However, it turns out that there is much more to it than meets the eye. Youtuber ToastedShoes recently published a video showcasing a modified version of the game, replacing the characters with Pokemon companions and making Ash the main protagonist.

When it comes to the gameplay mechanics, Palworld remains largely the same but adds a unique twist. It’s hard not to envision a zombie apocalypse set in the world of Pokemon when you see Misty holding a shotgun. The mod is not yet available to everyone, but Nintendo has shown that they are closely monitoring the situation by swiftly removing ToastedShoes’ original announcement. The Youtuber claims that they will release the mod when they deem it appropriate.

This mod evokes mixed feelings in me. It can be strange to inflict pain on our friends, but let’s not forget that we’ve only known them for a week, right? In the base version of the game, we can justify our violence by arguing that friends are trying to remove Pokemon from our hearts. However, most of us grew up loving these creatures and wouldn’t want to harm them.

That’s why I feel worse with a smile on my face when I see a battered Wooloo rolling up a hill like a ball rather than an equivalent scene in Palworld. The same goes for the image of Pikachus working in a mine. It’s impressive, but it would be even more mind-blowing if they were using their electric powers instead of pickaxes.

Although Palworld combines elements of survival, building, shooting, and the ability to commit brutal acts, many still label it as “Pokemons with guns.” This is both oversimplified and silly, as the previous name was available – Gunkémon. So now we can enjoy this wild adventure on PC, Xbox One, and Xbox X|S.
