Sony Reveals Upcoming State of Play Presentation: A New Look at PSVR 2 Games

Sony is gearing up for another edition of their highly anticipated State of Play presentation, promising a “new look” at PSVR 2 games. The latest State of Play event has been confirmed to run for over 40 minutes and will be aired on January 31st. While the presentation is set to provide a fresh perspective on upcoming titles for both PS5 and PSVR 2 in 2024 and beyond, it is expected to primarily focus on flat-screen PS5 games, with only a few VR titles in the mix, similar to previous PlayStation Showcase and September presentations.

Currently, Sony has not confirmed any upcoming titles specifically dedicated to the first line of PSVR 2.

During the State of Play presentation, gamers can expect an announcement for Metro Awakening, the next installment in the Metro series designed for virtual reality technology, published by Deep Silver. It is worth mentioning that Embracer, the parent company of Deep Silver, also owns Vertigo Games. In November, Vertigo announced that they are working on a “high-budget AAA VR game” based on a global franchise. Additionally, Vertigo had previously revealed plans to bring the Deep Silver game series into the world of virtual reality in 2021 in collaboration with Meta but not as an exclusive partnership.
