Striking Distance Studios is Hiring an Animator for an Unannounced UE5 Project

Striking Distance Studios poszukuje animatora do niezapowiedzianego projektu UE5

Striking Distance Studios, the creator of The Callisto Protocol, is currently seeking an animator to work on an undisclosed title based on the UE5 engine. While it remains unclear whether the new project will be another horror game in the vein of Dead Space or a completely different venture, this opportunity presents an exciting new chapter for the seasoned developer.

The Callisto Protocol, developed using the Unreal Engine 4, indicates that the studio is advancing to new heights with their second release. The mention of Unreal Engine 5 can be found in the job posting for a gameplay lead animator on LinkedIn.

The job listing states, “Striking Distance Studios is seeking a gameplay lead animator who will help us create the most dynamic and engaging player and enemy experiences in a completely new, unannounced title based on the UE5 engine. The primary responsibility of the gameplay lead animator is to plan, organize, supervise, and inspire the work of their team.”

The job posting also requires experience with both UE4 and UE5, but it does not specify whether Striking Distance is once again focusing on the horror genre.

This hiring announcement comes after Striking Distance and the publisher of Callisto Protocol, Krafton, laid off around 30 programmers, and the creator of Dead Space and game director, Glen Schofield, departed from the studio.

In our review of Callisto Protocol, we gave the game a 9/10, dubbing it a spiritual successor to Dead Space and one of the best horror shooters, although the story left much to be desired. We hope that the next game from Striking Distance will be equally outstanding.

Meanwhile, it’s worth keeping an eye out for several upcoming PC games, as well as fantastic free games on the Steam platform.
