Suicide Squad: Kill The Justice League is Now Available!

After encountering a “story completion bug” during Early Access, Rocksteady Studios had to temporarily disable their new online multiplayer game set in the Batman: Arkham universe, Suicide Squad: Kill The Justice League. Yesterday, Rocksteady announced that in order to resolve the issue, they needed to temporarily disable the always-online game.

Approximately six hours later, the studio stated that they had identified the problem causing the bug and hoped to fix it soon. The latest information from Rocksteady regarding this issue mentioned that players who purchased the Deluxe Edition, which allows for 72 hours of early gameplay, were able to rejoin at some point yesterday.

Today, Rocksteady announced planned maintenance work, which lasted for about one and a half hours.

“Our planned maintenance work has been completed. #SuicideSquadGame is back online, so assemble your team and return to Metropolis!” – Suicide Squad: Kill The Justice League (@suicidesquadRS) January 30, 2024

This means that Suicide Squad: Kill The Justice League is once again available online and playable for Deluxe Edition owners.

Suicide Squad: Kill The Justice League will be released on Friday, February 2, on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC.

Original Story, January 29, 2024:

Rocksteady Studios has disabled their new online multiplayer game set in the Batman: Arkham universe, Suicide Squad: Kill The Justice League, after players encountered a “story completion bug” during Early Access. The standard edition of the game will only be released on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC this Friday, February 2. However, players who purchase the more expensive Deluxe Edition for $99.99, compared to the $69.99 price for the Standard Edition, can join three days earlier.

While it is still early for players in the United States, for those in places like New Zealand, this Early Access period was already available. Or rather, it was before Rocksteady disabled the always online game.

“We’re aware that many players are currently experiencing an issue where, after logging into the game for the first time, they have already completed the story,” reads a tweet from the game’s official X account (formerly known as Twitter). “To address this, we will be conducting maintenance on the game’s servers. The game will be unavailable during this time. We expect this to last a few hours and will update with more information as we have it. Apologies for the inconvenience.”

While Suicide Squad: Kill The Justice League is not the first always-online game to encounter issues resulting in its disabling, it is still a massive letdown for players who were eagerly anticipating playing 72 hours earlier by spending an extra $30. Hopefully, Rocksteady and Warner Bros. Interactive, the publisher, will find a way to compensate those affected by this move.

Premiere access to Suicide Squad: Kill The Justice League Deluxe Edition will begin on January 30 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC, while the game will be available to all others who purchase it on February 2.
