Pocket Gamer Connects recently celebrated its tenth anniversary as part of the flagship annual event, Pocket Gamer Connects London. And of course, this meant the return of The Very Big Indie Pitch.
The Very Big Indie Pitch is our special edition competition that gives developers an even greater chance to showcase their brand-new and diverse gaming experiences from independent developers around the world.
The Big Indie Pitch is a regular event organized by PCGamesInsider.biz. It provides independent developers with the opportunity to present their games to industry experts and journalists in a format similar to speed dating. Teams receive valuable feedback and the chance to win exciting prizes, such as promotional packages and opportunities to promote their game.
As always, the competition was fierce. However, the jury ultimately selected three top games and one worthy winner.
The Very Big Indie Pitch London winner was the game “Oddiko – Beer and Plunder.”
In “Beer and Plunder,” you have to survive the chaos while running your own Viking tavern with a friend. It’s not just about alcohol, though. In second place was “Tea Is Served” by Jante Interactive. This VR game combines comedy with horror as you become a waiter at an annual tea party for the world’s most terrifying cryptids. As a novice, you’ll face many dangerous tasks while serving tea to the evilest, most demanding, and hungriest monsters from across the globe. From Dracula’s Castle to the depths of Loch Ness, you must pour tea, make sandwiches, and fulfill all the requests of these privileged creatures if you want to survive.
The third-place game was “Nomori” by Enchanted Works. “Nomori” is a stunning adventure game with puzzles where you must manipulate space and time to traverse the broken world of spirits. Your only support in this bizarre realm is Usa, a spiritual companion whose powers allow you to bend space and time. With Usa, you’ll be able to shorten paths through portals, rotate the world, and even control the flow of time as you try to escape this corrupted place and safely return home.
