The Pokemon Company International, a Japanese entertainment and trading card game company, has signed a lease agreement for nearly three-quarters of the office space in the 25-story tower, The Eight, currently under construction in downtown Bellevue. The tower is a project by Skanska USA Commercial Development, the American branch of the Swedish company Skanska.

According to the Puget Sound Business Journal, Pokemon will lease 152,300 square feet of office space and parking on 16 floors of the tower. This means that the company will occupy 72% of the office space and parking starting in January 2023.

The Eight tower, located at the intersection of 8th Street and 108th Avenue, will consist of 540,000 square feet of office space and 10,000 square feet of retail and restaurant space on the ground floor.

Pokemon will be the primary tenant of the building and the largest office tenant in Skanska USA’s portfolio. The company has been present in Bellevue for two decades and employs nearly 1,000 workers.

Bellevue has become an attractive market for technology companies and entertainment industry firms. Pokemon’s decision to expand its presence in Bellevue is evidence that the area reflects the future of work and attracts innovative companies from around the world.

The increasing interest in the Bellevue location is also evident as companies like Microsoft and TikTok are expanding their presence in the region.

As the construction of The Eight tower nears completion, Pokemon will soon occupy a significant portion of this modern office building, which symbolizes the growth and innovation in Bellevue.
