In a significant development, HP has witnessed a substantial surge in the sales of gaming PCs in India. Over the span of two years ending on March 31, 2023, the company delivered a remarkable 285 million units. This marked a noteworthy increase compared to the 131 million units sold in 2021 and the 282 million in 2022.

However, industry experts suggest that the company’s performance remained largely unchanged from 2022 to 2023. While HP India has not disclosed specific figures, they have declared their intent to continue the growth of gaming PC sales in the fiscal year of 2022-2023.

Recently, the company introduced the new HP Omen Transcend 14 series of gaming PCs, tailored for gamers and content creators. The entry-level model of this series is priced at 174,999 Rs and comes equipped with an Intel Core Ultra processor, Nvidia GPU, and a Neural Processing Unit (NPU).

Vineet Gehani, the Director of Consumer Sales at HP India, during the unveiling of the new laptop series, also addressed the overall sales of gaming PCs. In an interview with the news agency PTI, he remarked, “In recent years, the share of gaming PCs in HP’s overall portfolio has significantly increased. This trend is expected to continue this year, not only in the general market.” Gehani further emphasized that the company is a leader in the video gaming industry and is experiencing rapid growth in this sector.

However, when it comes to market penetration of PCs, Gehani noted that the share of gaming in the overall industry is also on the rise. He added, “Smaller platforms such as mobile phones and consoles are gaining momentum.”

Gehani also highlighted that the gaming industry’s evolution has accelerated, with games becoming a full-time engagement today. HP endeavors to introduce superior devices to the market every year to meet the escalating expectations of gamers.
