The Sunlit City: A Life Simulation Game for Stardew Valley Enthusiasts Who Prefer City Living

Niezwykłe połączenie: Sunkissed City – Gra dla miłośników Stardew Valley, którzy preferują życie w mieście

If you’re a fan of Stardew Valley but prefer the hustle and bustle of city life, we have good news for you. One of the former developers of Stardew Valley, Arthur “Mr. Podunkian” Lee, has announced his latest game called The Sunlit City. This game combines the beloved aspects of Stardew Valley with a vibrant, sun-soaked seaside metropolis filled with intriguing characters. Although there is no trailer yet, the game’s Steam page showcases some screenshots. It appears to be a blend of “Stardew Valley set in a coastal city,” which is certainly an exciting concept. The game is set to release in the fourth quarter of 2024, although an exact date has not been revealed. The PC version will be released first, followed by console versions.

According to the game’s description on Steam, players will embody a “freshly hired staff member in a new pilot program by Pico Corporation called ‘Peco Pioneer’.” Your task will be to “build relationships within the spirited Apollo community and advocate for new ecological initiatives by Pico.” However, not everything is perfect in these lively streets. Wild animals are becoming more aggressive, the waters are lifeless, monsters are emerging from the canals, and not to mention the constant migraines that have been plaguing the residents.

Unlike Stardew Valley, where players have their own farm, in The Sunlit City, players can engage in “home gardens organized by the local ‘plant-punk’ group” or “spend peaceful afternoons in the park with a good book or sipping coffee with the residents at the Weird Dog Café.” Fishing and gathering wild plants are also possible. It seems that the game’s version of mines will be replaced with “monster-infested canals.”

All in all, The Sunlit City offers an alternative life for those who may have grown tired of fresh air and growing their own vegetables. It promises to be an intriguing and original game that allows players to explore the charms of living in an exciting city.
