Tesla's Dojo Supercomputer Revolutionizes AI and Boosts NVIDIA and AMD

Tesla is making groundbreaking advancements in the field of artificial intelligence (AI) and is set to embark on an ambitious project, investing $500 million in the construction of a cutting-edge supercomputer called Dojo. Powered by NVIDIA’s AI GPU circuits, Dojo is a specialized platform designed to facilitate machine learning and video training using Tesla’s vehicle-generated video data. Its primary objective is to achieve complete autonomy for Tesla vehicles, playing a vital role in the company’s overall success. Elon Musk, CEO of Tesla, took to Twitter to reveal the company’s plans to invest a substantial sum in the Dojo supercomputer as part of a $500 million project at the Gigafactory in New York. While the $500 million figure is indeed significant, it is important to note that it only represents the price of around 10,000 AI GPU H100 units from Nvidia, valued at $10,000. This implies that Tesla’s investment will reach much higher figures, potentially even surpassing “several billion dollars” at some point. However, Nvidia is not the sole beneficiary of Tesla’s investment. Musk also revealed that Tesla will utilize AMD circuits, although specific models were not mentioned. Based on market demand, it is likely that these circuits will come from AMD’s highly acclaimed Instinct MI300 series, with the MI300X model being the most suitable fit.
