Ys X: Nordics - An Epic Adventure in the Mysterious Obelia Bay

Clouded Leopard Entertainment has recently announced the upcoming release of Ys X: Nordics on the Steam platform for PC. Set to launch on March 14th, this highly anticipated game will feature Japanese dialogues along with traditional and simplified Chinese and Korean languages.

In Japan and Asia, Ys X: Nordics will make its debut on September 28, 2023, on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, and Switch.

PC gamers will have the option to choose between two editions: the Standard Edition or the Digital Deluxe Edition. The Standard Edition is priced at HK$468 / NT$1,790 / ₩79,200, while the Digital Deluxe Edition is priced at HK$700 / NT$2,700 / ₩114,000.

The Digital Deluxe Edition of Ys X: Nordics is particularly appealing as it includes all character costumes and additional content that will be available for free in the Steam store after the official release date. However, please note that this edition does not include any bonus DLCs from previous purchases or other consumable DLCs.

For early bird buyers, there is an additional purchase bonus. Those who purchase either the Digital Standard Edition or Digital Deluxe Edition of the game on the Steam platform until March 27, 2024, will receive exclusive bonus content, including the “Pikkard Lover” costume, the “Crimson Knight” costume for Adol, and the “Lazveli Hearts” costume for Karja.

The PC version of Ys X: Nordics offers several exclusive features that enhance gameplay. Players can enjoy the game on a wide 21:9 monitor or the Steam Deck with a 16:10 aspect ratio, supporting 4K resolution and frame rates surpassing 60. This provides a wider field of view and smoother gameplay. Additionally, simplified Chinese subtitles have been added, allowing more players to fully immerse themselves in the adventure.

The captivating storyline of Ys X: Nordics is set in the mysterious Obelia Bay and revolves around an ambitious adventurer named Adol Christin. Players will encounter two factions: the valiant sailors known as the “Normans” and the enigmatic group of “Greegers,” who pose a threat to the inhabitants of Obelia Bay.

The combat system in Ys X has undergone significant modernization. With the introduction of the new “Cross Action” system, players can engage in combat in two modes depending on the situation. There is a fast-paced solo mode where the player controls the character with the support of an automatically attacking partner. There is also a two-player mode where two players can simultaneously control a series of actions to strategically face powerful enemies. Furthermore, for the first time in the Ys series, players can take on the role of a ship captain, introducing new challenges such as exploring the mysteries of the ocean through maritime maps and engaging in sea battles against hostile naval units. The game also features a new “Mana Actions” system, which grants special abilities that significantly enhance player freedom during field and dungeon exploration.
