Corsair Innovations in Gaming Audio: Introducing Corsair HS35 V2 Series

Nowością od Corsair jest headset Corsair HS35 V2 i Corsair HS35 V2 Surround

Corsair has recently launched the latest addition to their gaming audio lineup, the Corsair HS35 V2 and Corsair HS35 V2 Surround headsets, enhancing and expanding on their budget-friendly HS35 headset range. The new design features a revamped headband and modified ear cup shape, with the Surround version being the first in the HS35 series to offer virtual surround sound capabilities.

While it’s still early to determine if these models will rival our top gaming headset pick, these improvements aim to deliver a more comfortable headset experience compared to the relatively basic original Corsair HS35 model.

Taking a closer look at the HS35 V2 model, its design differs significantly from the previous version. Unlike the original HS35 model with oval ear cups, extendable headband ends, and cushioned underside, the new version boasts more contoured ear cups. The headband has been shifted to an external, fixed section with an adjustable rubber strap internally for a customized fit.

Although not definitive, this type of headband typically offers a more comfortable experience for the top of the head, assuming other factors remain constant. This is because the flexible headband naturally distributes the weight of the headset evenly, as opposed to a fixed padded headband. The new model is also slightly lighter than its predecessor – both versions are quite lightweight – weighing in at 213 g and 217 g respectively.

The core features of the headset remain the same: it features a 3.5mm stereo analog input, allowing connections to PC headphone jacks and certain console controllers like Sony’s DualSense controller.

The headsets also retain the same 50mm drivers, which Corsair claims offer a “powerful broad sound range, allowing for the detection of new details in games.” However, the company has not disclosed the frequency range or sensitivity statistics of the new headset drivers.

Similarly, the new microphone, described as omnidirectional with noise reduction capability, typically means it picks up ambient sounds without blocking external noise. Hence, Corsair’s exact intentions are not entirely clear.

It is important to note that both the microphone and main cable are non-removable, indicating that this headset is not ideal for use beyond computers, as a damaged cable would render the headset unusable. But this is the trade-off for its budget-friendly design.

The HS35 V2 is currently available in black, blue, and red color options, with a price tag of $49.99 USD for the HS35 V2 model.

Moving on to the HS35 V2 Surround model, it shares the foundational features and design of the analog version but includes a USB adapter to which the main headset is connected. This provides 7.1 virtual surround sound that can be controlled using Corsair’s iCUE app. The HS35 V2 Surround is already on the market at a price of $59.99 USD.
